I’m Dusty Wooddell, an Arizona-based photographer, creative director, and marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience creating imagery that gets noticed.


At the heart of what I do is high-end portrait photography. I specialize in polished, editorial-style portraits with an intentional approach to lighting, composition, direction, and retouching.


My goal is never simply to document what someone looks like. I want to create photographs that feel confident, cinematic, personal, and unmistakably yours.

More Than a Photographer

Photography has always been the foundation of my career, but my work has expanded far beyond the camera.

Over the years, I’ve worked across commercial photography, advertising, brand development, creative direction, content creation, and marketing, with experience connected to recognizable names including Monster Energy, Ford Racing, and KC HiLiTES, along with casinos, hospitality brands, wine labels, retailers, and businesses across a wide range of industries.

My photography has also been shared by internationally recognized artists including Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails.

That experience gives me a perspective that directly benefits my portrait clients as well. I understand how imagery shapes perception, communicates identity, and captures attention.

I’ve authored more than 100 articles for Fstoppers, covering professional photography, photography business, marketing, social media, equipment, and industry trends.

Portraits With a Commercial Eye

One of the things that separates my portrait work is that I bring the same level of thought and creative direction to an individual session that I would bring to a commercial production.

Lighting matters. Location matters. Wardrobe matters. Expression, composition, color, environment, and the final edit all matter.

I create portraits that feel intentional and elevated, images that could live just as comfortably in an advertising campaign or editorial spread as they do framed on a wall.

I’m based in western Arizona and regularly work throughout Parker, Lake Havasu City, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Southern California, and the surrounding Southwest, with travel available for the right project.
